Come On A Digital ICY ADVENTURE With The Snow Queen: Magic of the Ice Mirror!
Released today, November 3rd, 2015 via iTunes:
This follow-up feature film once again sends us on an a fun, family adventure with Gerda (Bella Thorne) and Orm (Sharlto Copley) that you won’t want to miss.
After celebrating their victory over the Snow Queen, Gerda and Orm have given their fellow trolls a taste of freedom. But when Orm gets a cold-hard reality check, they slip into another perilous journey and must protect the world from eternal winter.
Having not seen the first movie(Which I highly recommend doing!), The Snow Queen, I am glad that the movie starts with a 3 minute recap of what has happened so far with Orm.
Orm has quite the personality. He ends up in many funny and somewhat dangerous situations.
I found myself holding my breath within one of the first scenes where Orm has an “accident” at work.
The movie has many situations that many younger children will not understand like issues with money and bills, getting fired from your job, and eviction. I would not recommend this for under 6 yeas of age, but, it really depends on the child and what they are used to watching.
That being said, because the characters have wonderful “personalities” children of all ages will enjoy this adventure!
I think it will make for a lovely addition your holiday movies! Definitely a great movie to have on hand when your kids need a bit of distraction this holiday season.
Orm may be accident prone and have a nasty habit of telling lies to get out of and around trouble but, deep down he has the best of intentions and wants to be good.
Unfortunately Orm is faced with fighting his inner demons. Learning to choose right over wrong is not easy.
But, you’ll have to watch the movie to see if he is able to conquer them
and become good once and for all!
This movie is full of twists and turns and very funny moments that I am sure you and your family will love!
Your kids will love all the old and new characters in this movie. My favorite character is Orm’s sidekick Luta who just also happens to be his “Jiminy Cricket” trying to keep Orm from making bad choices.

Ps: Did you know that the voice of Arrog is none other than The Game of Throne’s Sean Bean?!!
I really enjoyed this movie and give it a 8/10 overall. Please come back and let me know what you thought of it!

My Little Pony – The Friendship Games: Review & DVD Giveaway!
My Little Pony, one of the most popular television series on Treehouse TV, has a new full-length feature film being released Digitally, on DVD and via a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo pack in Canada on October 13th!
In the new release titled, My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games, Canterlot High meets its rival school, Crystal Prep Academy, in a competition that’s a long-standing tradition – The Friendship Games: a series of exciting events that includes archery, motocross, and rollerskating! Sunset Shimmer is tasked with keeping magic out of the games to keep things fair while she and her friends compete against Crystal Prep’s top students led by someone with an equal amount of interest in Equestrian magic – this world’s Twilight Sparkle.
Continue the journey through high school with the Mane 6 in this alternate My Little Pony universe, and find out what happens next in My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games!
When the new My Little Pony “Friendship is Magic” cartoon started showing up on Netflix, I wasn’t sure what to think about it. The animation was different, the voices weren’t quite what I had expected for the characters. It was a lot different from the My Little Pony cartoons I grew up with:
However, even though the animation and characters have taken on changes, I believe that the message of the show still remains true. It is even more apparent because it is in now in the show’s title: “Friendship Is Magic“.
When going back and watching the older episodes you will see that there are things to learn in every episode. Lessons on etiquette, family, friendship, school, work etc. I really enjoy in the new series that the ponies will go back and reflect over the lesson learned in that episode, a great way for kids to really think about what was going on in the show instead of just watching it.
A Lesson in Friendship???
Recently my little guy, Nate, he’s 7, brought something to my attention and it truly broke my heart.
Nate had taken some hockey cards to school because a few of his “friends” were really into hockey. He was SO excited. Only to come after school to tell me this:
“Mommy, “Bob” called me and some other kids into the bathroom, then he took my hockey card and said that Boston sucked and put my card in the compost and they all laughed”
I cannot even write that without being brought to tears. I know “Bob” and I know his siblings and his family. They are well known around the area. This child is showing signs of being a bully – he called other kids around to watch him treat Nate like crap and then laughed…..no friend would ever do that to you.
But, you know what. Nate will probably forget that moment and will continue to call “Bob” his friend. That’s because Nate has a huge heart and doesn’t see the black lining of others intentions and cruelty. I fear for the day he does.
Why are parents ignoring their kid’s behaviour? Do they not see how they treat others? Or is it because they are so busy and wrapped up in their own chaos that they are truly oblivious?
I would like to ask that you take some time to talk to your kids about not only how to treat their friends (maybe talk about the lessons found in MLP after they’ve watched an episode!) but, also on how they are being treated by their friends. It is so important to make sure that your child doesn’t turn into a bully, but also that they are not being bullied themselves.
Now, on to the movie review !
My Little Pony : The Friendship Games
I want to give a big shout out to Shout Kids, Kaboom! Entertainment and HasbroStudios for making this review and giveaway a possibility! This one was so much fun for us as we are HUGE fans of the My Little Pony Equestria Girl movies (though we have yet to see “Through The Mirror”).
This time around we also got to involve many FRIENDS from school too!
For this review I wanted to kick things up a notch and include more than just my own opinion and my kids’ opinions of the movie.
So, I invited a bunch of kids to come over for a movie screening.
We made 16 (yes, I said 16) bags of microwave popcorn, topped it off with Kernel’s popcorn seasoning, went through 40 juice boxes, 12 freezies and a bunch of homemade rainbow cupcakes I had made that morning!
The kids had a lot of fun watching the movie and there was rarely a peep heard.
We had 12 children aged 6 – 11 and they all really enjoyed it as you can see from the pictures. It was funny watching their faces change in emotions during the movie; a few scowls, gasps but also some “yes” moments too.
I interviewed some of the kids to see what they thought about the movie as well as what they thought being a good friend meant. It’s funny when you put kids on the spot and ask them questions they are not prepared for, no matter how simple.
Please note: I am horrible at interviewing people…LOL…I stumble over my words and say “yeah” a lot! Next time I’ll be more prepared…LOL..oh dear!
But, their answers are pretty cute and that’s all that matters!
I have to say most of them seem to know that being a good friend means helping your friends when they need it and being kind to them !
My review of the movie: I did not get a chance to watch the movie with the kids as I was constantly popping popcorn and grabbing more juice boxes but I have since watched the movie. As I have said before I really enjoy the morals of the show and that they use the movies/shows/characters/music to teach kids how true friends should act and treat each other…so that alone makes me want to give this movie a 10/10….but…I’ve been jaded and am a bit biased….Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks both had stellar sound tracks that we listen to time and time again…this time around unfortunately the soundtrack falls flat for me. When a movie has lots of songs in it, the soundtrack needs to be great IMHO (in my humble opinion). So, I have to dock a point because of that! Sorry! But, the movie still gets a big 9/10 for me and I know it is one we will be watching over and over again!
Now it is time for you to have a chance at winning a copy of the movie on dvd for you and your children!
I really hope that if you win that you come back and let me know your thoughts on it!

Get ready! An all new motion picture from Shout! Factory is being released this week.
The Seventh Dwarf is being released in stores everywhere on August 18, 2015.
It will be available on DVD and 2-Disc Blu-Ray™ 3D Combo pack (with 2D Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy). It will also be available for download on iTunes.
This fairy tale mash-up of all the classics (Snow White, Rapunzel, and more) is sure to delight children of all ages…and some adults too!
This highly anticipated CG-Animated Motion Picture was directed by Harald Siepermann (Tarzan, Enchanted) and Boris Aljinovic.
The Seventh Dwarf also features an all-star voice cast:
Peyton List – who plays Princess Rose, is best known for her role on the hit Disney series Jessie (2011).
You can link to her facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/peyton.list
Norm MacDonald – who plays Burner the Dragon in this film, is best known for his role in The Middle and on Saturday Night Live.
He has an extensive list of movie appearances/ voice overs. you can find more info here: Norm’s Filmography
Nina Hagen – Nina plays Dellamorta in this movie, and in a few images I have found online, she sometimes even looks like her character.
Joshua Graham – plays Bobo in the movie. I could not find any other information about this actor.
The Seventh Dwarf is a German 3D computer animated film, created and released in 2014. The Seventh Dwarf is also considered to be a sequel to the films 7 Dwarves – Men Alone in the Wood (2004) and 7 Dwarves: The Forest Is Not Enough (2006).
The movie starts with the tale of Princess Rose (aka Rapunzel) and protecting her from the dreaded spell cast by Dellamorta (you know the spell, the one where she pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep). She finally makes it to her 18th birthday and there is a HUGE celebration at Fantabularasa ( try saying that 3 times fast!) Castle where all the important fairy tale characters are sure to be in attendance.
(I loved the commentary by Red Riding Hood and the Wolf!)
Just before the clock strikes twelve, the accident prone and youngest dwarf Bobo, accidentally pricks the finger of Princess Rose and Dellamorta’s evil curse is unleashed, sending the kingdom into a century-long slumber!
It is up to Bobo and the other 6 unique and eccentric dwarves to set out on a journey to find Princess Rose’s one true love, Jack. Jack is the only one who can break the spell with true love’s kiss.
Movie Runtime is 88 minutes. MPAA Rating: PG.
I’ll admit that we are sometimes reluctant to watch movies that have not been made by Disney, Dreamworks, Pixar etc.
It’s not that I have anything against other companies, it’s just that we have seen movies in great packaging and then gotten the movie home and been thoroughly disappointed. Mainly because the kids get bored with the story or the movies themselves are just plain horrible, whether it be the animation, characters, etc.
I had heard mention of this movie online and even saw a preview for it. My first thought was “oh no” another movie with fairy tale creatures. But, as the preview continued, I found myself wanting to watch this movie with my kids.
I can honestly say, I was absolutely thrilled when I was approached to review it.
And be able to host a giveaway for my readers!
When the movie starts I was incredibly impressed with the animation, wonderful quality. I cannot wait to watch it in 3-D!
The story line is one we have not seen before and the characters are definitely unique. You easily get swept away in to the land of fairy tales where you keep rooting for Bobo all along the way.
There are many funny parts in this movie, a few lessons to be learned, and some new characters (like a purple walrus!).
We really enjoyed watching this movie as a family. Spending quality time with your kids is important. And while I try to limit screen time with my kids, I definitely enjoy watching a good movie with them.
(good = moral, good clean humour, no extremely sad parts)
I can admit that the songs are catchy and you’ll be finding yourself humming them the next day!
My son, who is 7, loved that the dragon started out as a bad guy but turned into a good guy. My daughter, who is 6, loved the part when the dwarves fell on top of each other.
My only negative comments on the movie are that I was not crazy about Dellamorta. The voice did not (IMHO) fit the animation….either the animation needed to look older or the voice needed to sound younger. Nothing against Nina Hagen as her voice is great for playing an evil witch, it’s just that it did not fit the animation in this case. She sounds like a cross between Ursula (from The Little Mermaid) and Yzma (The Emporer’s New Groove).
My only other unfavorable comment is that the dwarf characters could have had a bit more personality/better animation. I think a bit more time/effort into these characters and the movie would have been that much better. I do understand that Bobo is the main dwarf but, I just think the other 6 should have been given a bit more attention in detail.
Now it is time for you to have a chance to own the dvd for your family!
