My kids and I love trying out new products especially when it involves products/toys for them.
I was very excited when I had found out that I had won a giveaway from Kiss Naturals
on Momma’s Little Reviews & Giveaways blog page.
There was a bit of a delay in receiving the prize but as soon as the company was contacted they sent one out right away!
Kiss Naturals is a Canadian based company that provides quality kits made with natural products for kids to make their own beauty products. Kiss Naturals “source our ingredients from local suppliers, including packing and assembly in Canada”.
On a rainy afternoon, my daughter and I sat down to make some lip balm while hubby and son went Pokemon Go hunting.
Making the lip balm was extremely easy and for the most part my daughter, who is 7, could do everything herself. The only part I did was mixing the wax up as the little measuring cup we were using in the microwave got a bit hot for her fingers.
If you would like to add color to your lip balm, just use a food base food coloring.
We learned the hard way….make sure you mix the food coloring into your shea butter BEFORE adding to the beeswax for melting/. Otherwise it just won’t mix in!
(See photo below!)
We had a lot of fun making this kit and look forward to trying out some of their other kits available!
I really appreciate knowing that the ingredients are natural and safe for my kids to use!
If you would like to purchase a kit to try with your kids you can do so by clicking on the photo/link below!
Hey Everyone! It’s time for a product review!
Today I’m sharing our (ChaosAndSilence, NateTubeAwesomeness and KaelynnIsRainbow) product review of Yummy Nummies products!
We first learned about Yummy Nummies from Chase’s Corner(Doh Much Fun) via Skylander Boy And Girl, check his video out here:
We’re keeping our eyes open for the Soda Shoppe Playset, you’ll see in our review of the Best Ever Burger Maker why.
The kids were super excited!
Here’s our video from when we made the donuts and cupcakes:
The overall consensus was that even though the donuts were tasty, the cupcakes were definitely the favorite. The kids had a lot of fun with these kits and we had a bit of the ingredients to set aside for another day of fun.
A few weeks ago I won a giveaway on Yummy Nummies facebook page.
Now, we had more donuts to make but also a new kit, the Best Ever Burger Maker kit!
Check our video review here:
We are definitely Yummy Nummies fans and look forward to trying out many of the other kits that they have available!
Come On A Digital ICY ADVENTURE With The Snow Queen: Magic of the Ice Mirror!
Released today, November 3rd, 2015 via iTunes:
This follow-up feature film once again sends us on an a fun, family adventure with Gerda (Bella Thorne) and Orm (Sharlto Copley) that you won’t want to miss.
After celebrating their victory over the Snow Queen, Gerda and Orm have given their fellow trolls a taste of freedom. But when Orm gets a cold-hard reality check, they slip into another perilous journey and must protect the world from eternal winter.
Having not seen the first movie(Which I highly recommend doing!), The Snow Queen, I am glad that the movie starts with a 3 minute recap of what has happened so far with Orm.
Orm has quite the personality. He ends up in many funny and somewhat dangerous situations.
I found myself holding my breath within one of the first scenes where Orm has an “accident” at work.
The movie has many situations that many younger children will not understand like issues with money and bills, getting fired from your job, and eviction. I would not recommend this for under 6 yeas of age, but, it really depends on the child and what they are used to watching.
That being said, because the characters have wonderful “personalities” children of all ages will enjoy this adventure!
I think it will make for a lovely addition your holiday movies! Definitely a great movie to have on hand when your kids need a bit of distraction this holiday season.
Orm may be accident prone and have a nasty habit of telling lies to get out of and around trouble but, deep down he has the best of intentions and wants to be good.
Unfortunately Orm is faced with fighting his inner demons. Learning to choose right over wrong is not easy.
But, you’ll have to watch the movie to see if he is able to conquer them
and become good once and for all!
This movie is full of twists and turns and very funny moments that I am sure you and your family will love!
Your kids will love all the old and new characters in this movie. My favorite character is Orm’s sidekick Luta who just also happens to be his “Jiminy Cricket” trying to keep Orm from making bad choices.

Ps: Did you know that the voice of Arrog is none other than The Game of Throne’s Sean Bean?!!
I really enjoyed this movie and give it a 8/10 overall. Please come back and let me know what you thought of it!
Available @iTunesMovies this is a great movie to add to your holiday collection!

Get ready! An all new motion picture from Shout! Factory is being released this week.
The Seventh Dwarf is being released in stores everywhere on August 18, 2015.
It will be available on DVD and 2-Disc Blu-Ray™ 3D Combo pack (with 2D Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy). It will also be available for download on iTunes.
This fairy tale mash-up of all the classics (Snow White, Rapunzel, and more) is sure to delight children of all ages…and some adults too!
This highly anticipated CG-Animated Motion Picture was directed by Harald Siepermann (Tarzan, Enchanted) and Boris Aljinovic.
The Seventh Dwarf also features an all-star voice cast:
Peyton List – who plays Princess Rose, is best known for her role on the hit Disney series Jessie (2011).
You can link to her facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/peyton.list
Norm MacDonald – who plays Burner the Dragon in this film, is best known for his role in The Middle and on Saturday Night Live.
He has an extensive list of movie appearances/ voice overs. you can find more info here: Norm’s Filmography
Nina Hagen – Nina plays Dellamorta in this movie, and in a few images I have found online, she sometimes even looks like her character.
Joshua Graham – plays Bobo in the movie. I could not find any other information about this actor.
The Seventh Dwarf is a German 3D computer animated film, created and released in 2014. The Seventh Dwarf is also considered to be a sequel to the films 7 Dwarves – Men Alone in the Wood (2004) and 7 Dwarves: The Forest Is Not Enough (2006).
The movie starts with the tale of Princess Rose (aka Rapunzel) and protecting her from the dreaded spell cast by Dellamorta (you know the spell, the one where she pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep). She finally makes it to her 18th birthday and there is a HUGE celebration at Fantabularasa ( try saying that 3 times fast!) Castle where all the important fairy tale characters are sure to be in attendance.
(I loved the commentary by Red Riding Hood and the Wolf!)
Just before the clock strikes twelve, the accident prone and youngest dwarf Bobo, accidentally pricks the finger of Princess Rose and Dellamorta’s evil curse is unleashed, sending the kingdom into a century-long slumber!
It is up to Bobo and the other 6 unique and eccentric dwarves to set out on a journey to find Princess Rose’s one true love, Jack. Jack is the only one who can break the spell with true love’s kiss.
Movie Runtime is 88 minutes. MPAA Rating: PG.
I’ll admit that we are sometimes reluctant to watch movies that have not been made by Disney, Dreamworks, Pixar etc.
It’s not that I have anything against other companies, it’s just that we have seen movies in great packaging and then gotten the movie home and been thoroughly disappointed. Mainly because the kids get bored with the story or the movies themselves are just plain horrible, whether it be the animation, characters, etc.
I had heard mention of this movie online and even saw a preview for it. My first thought was “oh no” another movie with fairy tale creatures. But, as the preview continued, I found myself wanting to watch this movie with my kids.
I can honestly say, I was absolutely thrilled when I was approached to review it.
And be able to host a giveaway for my readers!
When the movie starts I was incredibly impressed with the animation, wonderful quality. I cannot wait to watch it in 3-D!
The story line is one we have not seen before and the characters are definitely unique. You easily get swept away in to the land of fairy tales where you keep rooting for Bobo all along the way.
There are many funny parts in this movie, a few lessons to be learned, and some new characters (like a purple walrus!).
We really enjoyed watching this movie as a family. Spending quality time with your kids is important. And while I try to limit screen time with my kids, I definitely enjoy watching a good movie with them.
(good = moral, good clean humour, no extremely sad parts)
I can admit that the songs are catchy and you’ll be finding yourself humming them the next day!
My son, who is 7, loved that the dragon started out as a bad guy but turned into a good guy. My daughter, who is 6, loved the part when the dwarves fell on top of each other.
My only negative comments on the movie are that I was not crazy about Dellamorta. The voice did not (IMHO) fit the animation….either the animation needed to look older or the voice needed to sound younger. Nothing against Nina Hagen as her voice is great for playing an evil witch, it’s just that it did not fit the animation in this case. She sounds like a cross between Ursula (from The Little Mermaid) and Yzma (The Emporer’s New Groove).
My only other unfavorable comment is that the dwarf characters could have had a bit more personality/better animation. I think a bit more time/effort into these characters and the movie would have been that much better. I do understand that Bobo is the main dwarf but, I just think the other 6 should have been given a bit more attention in detail.
Now it is time for you to have a chance to own the dvd for your family!

I love free stuff. Who doesn’t?
Especially when times are tough and we would like to be able to buy what we want, when we want.
It is especially nice that there are programs and contests out there where you can receive/win free products.
I recently signed up for a free account from Influenster . A social media hub where getting connected means that you can earn rewards and products to do reviews on.
Here is a statement found directly on their page so you can know a little more specifically what it is all about:
“The Influenster Team ships out thousands of exclusive VoxBoxes every month from brands you know and love (or will soon love) for FREE. Some programs feature an assortment of great products while others spotlight one awesome brand.” Click here to read more: https://www.influenster.com/why-join
This month we were the lucky recipients of a VoxBox.
Let’s see what we got!
When I opened the box I was thrilled to see Monopoly Junior inside!
(I had an unboxing video but, for some reason my phone has decided to “eat” it and I cannot find it anywhere! )
This is one game I was not only looking forward to playing with my kids at some point, but also dreading it…. I remember always losing at monopoly as a kid, the evil empire my brother would build with hotels.
We took out all the pieces, read the instructions and started to play. All the pieces are well made, the colors are vibrant and eye catching.
I have to say that I love the “spin” on properties you can buy! You can buy a theatre, pet store, ice cream parlor etc. Awesome idea for kids instead of just having the traditional properties.
I was the banker, though I think next time I might let my oldest (Nate – he’ll be 7 in December) be in control of this. The math is very simple and easy, no big numbers! Properties cost $1 to $5 and you get $2 for passing Go!
I also liked the idea of having property signs(they have a picture of your player piece on them) to place above the property instead of houses and hotels which can become quite overwhelming for young children when trying to play traditional Monopoly. You simply buy your property and place a sign on it to show that it is already sold.
In keeping with tradition if you land on a sold property you must pay a fee, which is simply the purchase price of the property.
But, if the set of two properties are owned by the same person you pay for both properties.
That’s another thing to note. There are only 2 properties in a set. Simple. Kid friendly.
Playing Monopoly takes time, especially when playing with children 10 and under. It took us about an hour to play the game. But, it also took about 10 minutes to set up and explain the rules.
Patience is needed and I think that is why some parents do not like to sit down and play board games with their kids. It also requires a lot of explaining that there are rules and saying “that’s not fair!” doesn’t work when playing a board game (when everyone is playing fairly, that is!).
Unfortunately, there is always a loser in a game…. and … as always…it was me..LOL! I went brankrupt and could not afford to pay the fee when landing on a sold property. So, that is when the games ends and you count your money. The person with the most money wins. This time it just happened to be Kaelynn!
We had a lot of fun paying this game and look forward to playing it again soon!
***Please note: We received the product complimentary to test and/or review.
It was a rainy day…..too wet to go outside….actually, it was Father’s Day, and the hubby was doing his own thing and I wanted to do something fun with the kidlets.
So, I searched Pinterest for some creative and somewhat potentially messy activities and found a recipe for flubber.
You can see the original pin here: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/132082201546687790/
Let me first of all say, I am not usually one to indulge in messy play at our house, because it usually gets out of control and I end up having to clean more then I should after the activity is finished. However, I also know how very important it is for kids to have messy play and am now being more open to trying new creative play ideas.
So, stick around because there will be a few more posts like this in the future!
Let’s get started with making ALIEN FLUBBER!
It is best, I find, to have all your materials prepped BEFORE you call the kids to the table to get started. Be prepared.
I got everything ready and even had the correct measuring spoons/cups ready to go.
Here are the things we used:
<Below is the measurements to use for HALF the original recipe – this got split BETWEEN my kids so they ended up with 1/4 of the original recipe each; which I found to be more then enough flubber for them to play with>
3/4 cup warm water
8oz of clear blue glue
food coloring (16 drops)
glitter (Approx 2 tsp)
1/2 cup + 2tbsp + 2tsp warm water
1/2 tsp borax (I did NOT use the laundry kind(but you can), I got mine from the pharmacy)
Measuring spoons/cups, gloves, spoons, 4 separate small mixing bowls
Now, the next thing you need to know is I took the original recipe and divided it by four so each child could make their own bowl of flubber.
Here is the measurements that I would use if making it for only 1 child:
3/8 cup of water (aka 6TBSP)
40z clear blue glue
food coloring (8 drops)
glitter ( Approx 1 tsp)
1/4 cup + 1 tbsp + 1 tsp warm water
1/4 tsp borax (I did NOT use the laundry kind(but you can), I got mine from the pharmacy)
Measuring spoons/cups, gloves, spoons, 4 separate small mixing bowls
Now, it’s time to go through the steps of making flubber, which is extremely easy to do!
1.)Prep your materials and utensils.
2.) Put warm water (first measurement) in a bowl, and add your glue.
3.) Add food coloring and glitter.
4.) Gently mix together.
5.) In a separate bowl, mix warm water (2nd measurement) and borax, and stir gently. I did this portion of the activity as it is not recommended to let children use the borax. <I think it has to do with children inhaling the borax dust>
6.) Slowly pour the water/borax mixture into your glue mixture and stir as it is added and it with slowly start to form.
7.) Mix/squish with hands until it becomes a somewhat formed blob.
And…..your done! Congratulations you just made Alien Flubber!
Store in an air tight container and it should last quite a long time.
You can pull it, cut it, stretch it and it will still come back to form a blob.
Let me know if you make some and share your picture!
PS: If your child has a tendency to put stuff in their mouth, please supervise them with this, it is NOT meant to be eaten!
