What’s Holding You Back? Find Your Passion and Get Moving!

My 100lb Weightloss Journey. It all starts right here.

On Monday, April 15th 2013, I went to my doctor for a follow up on an ultrasound.
Expecting to hear the same news as always (that nothing was found that could be causing my abdominal pain and other issues), I was met by a very somber DR (who normally likes to joke around).

He told me that I have fatty tissues/cells in my liver and that this is a very serious situation. That these fatty things can shut my liver down and cause it to go into failure…they can also lead to liver cancer..among many other ailments that run in my family (like diabetes).
He said that he didn’t like to have to have these talks with people but that it was time for me to address my weight seriously as I am now in a high risk situation that needs to start getting handled right away….or I might not be here.
He then proceeded to ask me what I thought I weighed…and I said honestly that I could be pushing 300lbs but that the last time I had weighed myself, I was 265lbs…yikes…so I stepped on the scales and I, as of yesterday weighed 258lbs. So, he said that I need to lose about 100lbs to be at my target weight…..and so my journey begins…I am choosing to document this and be as open and honest as possible. I feel that it is important to do this, to not only hold myself accountable, but, to hopefully bring inspiration to others who may have fallen into the pit of “food addiction” and lack of exercise that I have fallen into.
I am going to be setting small but attainable goals for myself, which I will be letting you know everyday if I met those goals or not. I will also be posting photos and measurement/weigh in results, as well as reviews of video workouts that I have tried and recipes, etc etc….
Thanks for joining me on my journey!!!!!!!!!!

  1. You go girl! My friend Peter lost over 200 lbs. He started at 440. He’s been taking it slow and wants to get down to 190. We are on the lookout for “half the man he use to be.” I say good job to you, and I look forward to watching you get healthy! ~
