My Successes and Failures @ Baking – PS: My Compost Bin Isn’t Hungry Anymore; But Neither is My Husband.
I absolutely love love LOVE to bake. I have been it for years. Luckily I had a mom whom was always baking cookies and cakes growing up. She mainly stuck to the basics(chocolate chip, peanut butter, etc) but, it was enough to get me started.
For almost 8 years I worked as a live-in nanny of three beautiful little girls…and after my first time baking some cookies for a birthday party, they were hooked. Every event that came around I was baking for it. Birthdays, Christenings, Christmas, etc. The father of the girls told me I should open my own bakery…which if I could afford the start-up costs, I would totally do.
There’s a bakery in town that has been up for sale for a very long time. I remember going to it as a child and teenager and always being given a free cookie when we went in to buy something…and even when we didn’t buy something. The owners/bakers were extremely joyful people. Always greeting you with huge smiles.
I loved the smell and smiles that greeted you when you walked in. I really miss that. Our town is quite small, but, I do believe a bakery could do well here again.
I’ll keep dreaming, and for now, I’ll start sharing what I bake. Maybe you’ll find some favorites!

Ps: These cookies have the potential to easily “hide” the taste of added nutrients (like cooked cauliflower).
